With special guest:
Parents are all too familiar with the difficulties of relating to their sons in a language that they understand while they grow from boys to men. Our guest today is Dr Tim Hawkes who as Headmaster of The King’s School is responsible for 1500 boys. Dr Hawkes has held this position since 1998 adding to a wealth of experience gained in England and Australia on how boys can best reach their potential as men.
In his new book Ten Conversations You Must Have with your Son Dr Hawkes is unafraid to draw on what he describes as his failings as a father, his betrayal as a Headmaster and his inadequacy as a son which might surprise some of our listeners who are aware of his many accomplishments.
The book gets down to the core of how to promote conversations with your boy, what are the important lessons you can give him, what is important after all? In our program we explore the most important conversation of all. We look at what it is that is preventing many parents from having that conversation at a time when it has never been more important for our boys to get the guidance they are screaming out for.
Dr Tim Hawkes is informative, entertaining and a whole lot more. An interview you will not want to miss.
